Vilas County Sheriff
330 Court Street
Eagle River, WI 54521
Sheriff Frank Tomlanovich
With the increase in boat traffic each summer, comes an increase in unlawful complaints and boating accidents. The Boat Patrol Program has aided in assisting the WI DNR by being visible on the water, enforcing the state and local laws, and providing assistance by water. The Boat Patrol Program attempts to handle the complaints that occur throughout Vilas County and work during peak boating hours.
The Boat Patrol Program primarily patrols the waterways of Lincoln, Washington, and St.Germain townships. Thus having over 1300 lakes throughout Vilas County, the Sheriff?s Department also handles boating complaints by squad car. The Police School Liaison Officer (PSLO) works during the summer months with other deputies that volunteer in addition to their normal duties.
The Boat Patrol Program's goal is to make the water safe and enjoyable for everyone to enjoy.
