MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE 85.21 SPECIALIZED TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE GRANT
FROM THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
HELD ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 10, 2008
AT THE VILAS COUNTY COURTHOUSE
EAGLE RIVER, WISCONSIN
The Public Hearing was opened at 9:00 a.m. by the Commission on Aging Chairman Fred Radtke. The following members of the community were present: Loyd Black, Steve Favorite, Betty Gussick, Betty Hansen, Ray Johnson, Carolyn Kneip, Dennis Nielsen, Donna Rollmann, Chris Wise, Janell Keeter, Julie Deaton and Deb Weiss. Other interested parties were: Greg Schiek and Susan Richmond.
Chairman Radtke read the Notice of Public Hearing as published in the Vilas County News Review and the Lakeland Times in December, 2007. Copies of the proposed 85.21 Grant were available for review.
Radtke described the process utilized when discussing the grant funds. Discussion was held on the proposed budget of each project. The amount of each grant was discussed by the members with the total grant being $83,222.00.
There was discussion about the increase in some of the projects budgets. Richmond stated that this was due to the insurance issue and the fact that all projects must obtain their own insurance for liability now.
There being no further comment, Chairman Radtke closed the Public Hearing at 9:15 a.m.
